This Prawn Masak Merah recipe combines the sweetness of prawns with the bold and spicy flavors of Ayam Masak Merah, a traditional Malaysian dish. The Wahyu Brand Ayam Masak Merah instant cooking paste makes it easy to create this delicious twist at home.
Ingredients:
- 10-12 prawns
- 2 tablespoons Wahyu Ayam Masak Merah paste
- 2 medium-sized onions, chopped
- 1/2 cup water
- 6 tablespoons of oil
- Cilantro and red chilli for garnish
- Steamed rice for serving
Instructions:
1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add onions and saute until fragrant.
2. Add Wahyu Ayam Masak Merah paste and stir-fry for 1 minute.
3. Add prawns and cook until they start to turn pink.
4. Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for 5-7 minutes or until prawns are cooked through.
5. Garnish with cilantro, sliced onions and chilli, serve hot with white rice.
Note: You can adjust the amount of Wahyu Ayam Masak Merah paste to your desired level of spiciness and flavour.
